MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD AT WINDSOR CITY COUNCIL

Upcoming Motion

On November 9th Windsor City Council will be hearing a motion from Mayor Drew Dilkens to officially endorse the hospitals plan. We know that the new Windsor-Essex Hospitals System has widespread community support – that is why thousands of supporters have signed up to push this project forward.

Now we need to ensure everyone from Windsor City Council to Queen’s Park hears from residents like you that WE Can’t Wait.

Windsor City Council will be meeting online and taking deputations – a chance for the public to speak to the motion in support of our new hospitals plan. It is critical that a loud and clear message is sent from the City of Windsor: we need our new acute care hospital, and we need it now.

How to Participate

Time is short. You must register in advance in order to be included on the speakers list. Tell your story, be personal and passionate about our region’s health care needs. Preparing your Deputation

Residents will have 5 minutes to speak to the motion before council concerning our new Windsor-Essex Hospitals System, and preparing your remarks in advance can help take some of the nerves out of it. Here’s some tips to help you prepare some notes:

  • Right at the start, mention your support for the new hospitals system. If you run out of time, you don’t want to leave the most important part out!

  • Tell Windsor City Council why advancing this project is important to you: whether it’s because you’re a patient, a family member of a patient, a healthcare provider or because you know that good local jobs will be created because of it.

  • Share a personal story from your own experience or those of the people you know to let them know how the lack of a new hospitals system is impacting you and your community
